Introducing the people you meet at ‘Bumble Bee Quilting’.
Mar 22nd
Heya Everybody, I’m Cassie,
I’m 15 years old and live about 5 miles away from Corris, which is a place called Machynlleth.
I live there with my mum, dad and sister. And go to a school called “Ysgol Bro Ddyfi”. It is a good school, and I will be going back there after my GCSE’S to do my A-LEVELS.
On the weekends, I like going out with my mates, I enjoy shopping and going to the cinema with them!!
Every Saturday, I work at Bumble Bee Quilting at Corris Craft Centre, I love working here, because I get on really well with Jane and her Family, and they are very nice and very friendly.
Recently in the shop, I’ve been cutting really colourful fabrics for new kits that Jane has decided to make.
I have been working at ‘Bumble Bee’ for nearly a year and I really enjoy it =]

Aide to memory?
Mar 21st
BBCÂ News Wed 18th feb 09
“Those who had during middle age been busy reading, playing games or engaging in craft hobbies like patchworking or knitting were found to have a 40% reduced risk of memory impairment… a US study suggests.
——————————————————————————————-
This is something us Patchwork Quilters have known for years… NOT!!
Where did i put my snippers/scissors/cutter/pins?
I know I have a piece of fabric that would be just right… It was in this cupboard/box/drawer… wasn’t it?
Oh sorry dear I really forgot to check the dinner… Is it really burnt to a cinder?
That’s why for years we’ve been creating ‘Quilts and Wallhangings’ to help us remember!
Recently, In our March Newsletter we highlighted a lovely quilt found nearly completed and I was asked by the owners if I could finish it so they could use it and show off the hours of love given to this quilt by a lady ‘Ada Beard of Snowshill, Gloucestershire.
“Her family had been Licensee of The Snowshill Arms in the village for many years. Ada never married and ran the pub, almost to her death in 1968 at the age of 91. Ada was a second cousin of my husbands great grandmother Anne beard, When she left ’The Snowshill Arms’ my husband had to empty the pub and found the quilt almost finished, his best guess is that Ada made it in the years between 1897 and 1948″.
I got to thinking, does anyone remember this lady Ada from the ‘The Snowshill Arms’ and does the present licensee have any interest in Patchwork & Quilting?
